Today was an interesting afternoon at the park. It was a beautiful sunny spring afternoon and as daddy promised you guys we went to the park. Mommy was working from home so she couldn’t join us but “Pau” came with us. We packed up snacks and cold water for the trip. Daddy placed you two cuties into the truck and we were off for some fun at the park.

Once we got to the park we made our way into the play area for children, We split up into two’s. “Pau” went with Tyler and Daddy went with Chuchi. This is where everything became interesting. I lost site of “Pau” and Tyler when Chuchi and I reached the advanced childrens play area. This is where I noticed that Chuchi was acting funny. She wouldn’t engage. Once she gained high ground on the play area she kept looking around and very focused.

I asked Anne, “are you Ok?” No response. I just observed and Anne made her way around the play area scanning the park. I was wondering what is grabbing her attention. I would look into the areas she was focused on and saw nothing. All of sudden Anne asks me “where’s Ty?” I was taken back when I heard her ask this question. I was taken back for two reasons. 1) Im still getting used to the fact that Anne’s speech delay has improved so much I’m unaware how much her speech has improved. To hear such a articulate question come from a 3 year old was odd for me. 2) When Anne posed the question it was asked with conviction. It was as if she was on a mission to find her baby brother.

I found it amazing watching the development of my kids that they have this inherit love for one another and that it extends to the point of protecting one another at such a young age. I would have never of thought that this is possible for such young children. Apparently I have a great deal to learn. It was nice to know that Annelise cares for her brother so much. She proves herself as the ideal “big sister” everyday. Great Job Anne. Mommy & Daddy are really proud of you. Thanks for looking out for your brother.
