Today was a fun and interesting day. About a month ago when you kids were at the library Pau brought home a leaflet which contained information about the Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers Club located in Levittown, New York. We all know how obsessed Tyler is with trains we figured this is something you make enjoy on an entirely different scale…no pun intended.
Daddy took this day off because the original plan was to go out east and pick pumpkins for your “Jack-O-Lanterns for Halloween. Plus mommy and daddy wanted to get some apple-cider donuts with hot chocolate. However, the weather felt more like summer then fall so we decided to check out the trains.
This was well worth the trip. When we first found the location it was in the back of the Levittown shopping plaza and it turned out to be in the basement of a commerical building. Here I judged a book by its cover and was disappointed. I thought this was going to be some sort of cheap display by the some old man with a hobby. To my surprise this was one of the most impressive indoor model train layouts that I have ever seen. It was literally a complete city, town and rural & commercial area in one. It was 35 feet wide x 85 feet long.
The amount of detail that went into every every themed scene was unimaginable. I wasn’t able to take many photo’s and/or video because I had Tyler in my arms and it was difficult to take photos with you. I wanted you to get as much from the experience without me interrupting the time with photo’s. I got what I could. Enjoy.
