Accident number #3 for Tyler. I feel so bad for my little guy. This is your third accident to the head in 3.5 years. This time you were at school at dismissal. At Methodist, the teacher calls each student individually to be released to their parent or guardian. As you were leaving the room you tripped and fell into the wooden chair in front of you striking the left-side of your head.
Mara was outside in the hallway waiting for you to come out of your classroom. All she heard was the loud cry coming from you and saw you laying on the floor. She stated that she saw this knot grow instantaneously that you can see here on the blog post.
Once Mara sent the photographs of your injuries to mommy & daddy we decided to contact the doctors’ office. We didn’t want to take any chances with regards to a concussion. Mommy asked the doctor if we should bring you to see the doctor or go straight to the hospital. The doctor responded, “bring Tyler here let me give him a preliminary examination.”
So we instructed Mara to take you in and this is you sitting calmly (most likely in shock) at the doctor’s office.
While you were at the doctor’s office mommy & I didn’t know if you were being sent to the hospital. So Daddy left work to get home as quickly as possible in the event we had to take you to the hospital.
We were fortunate that you didn’t have to go. As soon as daddy came home you arrived with Mara. I brought you into the living room and placed a bag of ice on your head to bring down that knot.
I held you in my arms to let you know that you were safe with daddy at home.
