Today you took your first official steps into the world of basketball—and I couldn’t be prouder.

It’s not just about bouncing a ball or making a shot. It’s about learning, growing, and discovering what you’re capable of. There will be moments when you feel like a superstar, and other times when it feels tough—and that’s all part of the game. What matters most is that you show up, give your best, and enjoy the ride.

So here’s my advice to you, my son:

  • Listen and learn – Every coach, every teammate, every game has something to teach you.

  • Work hard, even when no one’s watching – That’s where greatness starts.

  • Be a team player – Pass the ball, cheer for others, and lead with kindness.

  • Stay humble when you win and strong when you lose.

  • And most importantly: Have fun. Your joy is what makes the game come alive.

I’ll be there in the stands, cheering for you whether you hit the game-winner or miss every shot—because I’m proud of who you are, not just what you do.

This is just the beginning. Keep your head high, your heart in the game, and never forget—you’ve already won in my eyes.
